Plitvice Lakes National Park

In 1979 Plitvice Lakes National Park was awarded recognition as a UNESCO world heritage site.
Plitvička Jezera, as it’s known in Croatian, has sixteen tiered interconnected lakes & together with a series of gushing waterfalls are a popular spot for both locals and travellers. The lakes are world-famous for their ever-changing colours.
Shades of teal, turquoise and deep blues to greys dazzle throughout the year. The park also has a number of hiking trails giving keen adventurers the chance to see the park from all angles. Plitvice Lakes sits approximately halfway between Zadar and Zagreb, and is a day trip from either location or you can find accommodation close by.
This guide to the Plitvice Lakes will tell you all you need to know about visiting. And I suggest you do, you won’t regret it, it is one of the BEST places to visit in Europe!
